# Create and publish your agent in Instfy Agent

Step by step to create an agent in the Studio, add knowledge, customize it, install it on your website, test it and follow conversations and leads.

This guide takes you from your first login to the agent running on your website. Follow the tasks in order: an agent with a good knowledge base answers better from day one. !image[Instfy Agent Studio with the Builder, Knowledge, Analytics, Conversations, CRM and Install tabs] ## Before you start - **Studio access:** access is granted by the Instfy team. There is no open sign-up. If you do not have a login yet, write to relationship@instfy.com. - **Company content:** gather your website address, the main pages (products, services, published prices, policies) and the questions customers ask most. - **Website access:** you will need to paste a code snippet into your website or ask whoever manages it to do so. - **Business WhatsApp (optional):** the number the agent can direct visitors to. ## Log in to the Studio **Path:** `ai.instfy.com/studio/login`
  1. Open the Log in to the dashboard screen.
  2. Fill in the Email and Password you received from the Instfy team.
  3. Click Log in. The Studio opens on the Dashboard.
:::tip Change the temporary password on your first login and do not share your login. To give someone else access, add a member under *Settings > Team*. ::: ## Create the agent **Menu path:** *Agents > + New agent*
  1. In the sidebar, click Agents.
  2. Click + New agent.
  3. In the Agent name field, type the name the visitor will see.
  4. Click Create and open. The system creates the agent's address from the name and opens the Builder tab.
## Add knowledge Knowledge is what the agent uses to answer. Start with your website and complete it with texts. **Menu path:** *Agents > (your agent) > Knowledge*
  1. Open the Knowledge tab and go to Add knowledge.
  2. In the Website option, enter the main address, adjust the Maximum pages (up to 120) and click Crawl website.
  3. Use Page and Fetch and index to include an important URL that was not picked up by the crawl.
  4. Use File and Upload and index for TXT, MD, CSV, TSV, JSON, HTML or XML files up to 5 MB.
  5. Use Text, choose the Text or FAQ type and click Index text for answers that are not on the website.
  6. Check under Indexed knowledge that each source has reached the indexed status.
:::note PDF and DOCX uploads are **Coming soon**. In the meantime, convert to TXT or paste the content as Text. ::: ## Customize in the Builder **Menu path:** *Agents > (your agent) > Builder*
  1. Fill in Name and Description, and leave the Status as Active.
  2. Write the Welcome message and the Input placeholder (the sample text in the typing box).
  3. Set the Tone of voice and the Language.
  4. Enter the WhatsApp number using digits only, if you want the agent to direct visitors to it.
  5. Choose the Primary color, Theme, Widget position, the bar colors and the avatar.
  6. Under Suggested questions, write one question per line.
  7. Under Sharing (WhatsApp and social media), set the title, description and image of the public link. The Studio can suggest a title and description based on the knowledge.
  8. Changes save automatically. Use Save now if you want to be sure.
## Test before publishing
  1. Click View public page at the top of the agent.
  2. Ask the questions your customers ask most and check the sources shown.
  3. Ask something that is not in the knowledge base and confirm the agent says it does not have the information.
  4. Fill in what was missing with Text or FAQ and test again.
## Install on your website **Menu path:** *Agents > (your agent) > Install*
  1. Open the Install tab.
  2. Choose the method: Script (HTML), Google Tag Manager, WordPress, Shopify, React/Next, Page/iframe or API (cURL).
  3. Copy the snippet shown. In the Script method, it is a single <script> tag that loads the widget and identifies your agent.
  4. Paste the snippet into your website, before the closing </body> tag or in the place indicated for the chosen method.
  5. Use the Live preview to check the appearance.
  6. Open your website and confirm the widget appears in the chosen position.
You can also share the **public page link** in your bio, on WhatsApp or in a QR code, without touching your website. ## Follow conversations and leads - **Conversations:** read each conversation and see the source channel (Widget, Public page, Test, Voice, POS and others). - **Analytics:** track volume, knowledge gaps and most asked topics. - **CRM:** add contacts with buying intent and move the cards through the funnel. Write to relationship@instfy.com to request your login. There is no open sign-up for the Studio. ### How many website pages can the agent read? The website crawl reads up to 120 pages per source, with a default of 30. You can add other pages individually with the Page option. ### Does the widget affect how my website looks? No. The widget is loaded by a single script and runs isolated from the rest of the page, with its own styling, without changing your website's layout. ### Do I need to republish the code when I change the color or the message? No. Changes made in the Builder apply to the widget already installed, without changing the code on your website. ### How do I update the agent when my website changes? In the Knowledge tab, click Refresh on the URL source that changed.
