Instfy Data: sources, volumes and updates
Where Instfy Data's data comes from, how many companies the database covers by county, which fields come from the official source and how the database is updated.
This page explains the origin of each piece of information in Instfy Data. Use it to know what is official data, what is supplementary and when the database was loaded, before making decisions based on it.
Main source: Sunbiz
The main source is the Florida Division of Corporations, known as Sunbiz, the official public business registry of the State of Florida. Each company in Instfy Data is identified by its Sunbiz document number (for example, L26000015451), which does not change over time.
Every profile has the View official record on Sunbiz link, so you can check the record directly at the source.

How the database is updated
- The current database comes from the July 2026 load.
- Updates are periodic manual loads done by the Instfy team. There is no fixed frequency.
- Data edited by the business owner is stored separately from public data and appears on top of it, without erasing the fields from the official source.
Quality notes
- Emails: in Orange County, about 99% of companies had their registered email matched. In the other counties, most profiles have no email.
- Email type: emails are classified as the company's own, shared, or accountant and service provider. An accountant's email is not the company's direct contact.
- Status: the status reflects the record as of the load date. Check Sunbiz before an important decision.
- Missing data: when a piece of information does not exist in the source, the profile shows the field as missing. The system does not fill in data by estimation.
- Public figure: marketing materials may cite "more than 400,000" or "more than 432,000" companies. The exact number from the load is 432,774.
